Consumer Bankruptcy - Understanding the New Bankruptcy Law
Documentation Requirements

Documentation Requirements

If you wish to file for Chapter 7 bankrupotcy or Chapter 13 bankruptcy, the new bankruptcy law now requires that you provide proof of income, in the form of federal tax returns from the preceding tax year.  In the event that you did not pay taxes the preceding year, you will be required to pay before the bankruptcy hearing can proceed.
